As a mid-size regional accounting firm, we had team members with specific roles for our business’ financial affairs to reduce the workload of partners and senior accountants. When a key member of our team resigned to move interstate, I realised I had to act quickly to find someone to assist with our internal finance role, as from experience I recognised that it would take up significant time from my calendar to delve into this area again.

I first met Sarah through a mutual business contact, and soon realised that she was super organised, systemised and knew which direction she was heading. She had developed systems and processes to allow her own business to run as a “turn key” operation, which meant she was available to assist us when we needed. Whilst I found Miss Efficiency was reasonably cost effective when taking into account the replacement of a team member, employee entitlements, training and other costs, it was soon apparent that engaging Miss Efficiency also provided time efficiencies, and above all, reassurance knowing our monthly ATO, Super, Payroll Tax obligations were taken care of seamlessly, on time, and without me having concerns about putting client work down to complete our internal reports.

Our results were almost immediate – streamlined processes, monthly workpapers enhanced to suit our needs, and relief that this was all taken care of whilst I was concentrating on client work and increasing business efficiencies in other areas.

Sarah took the time initially to ask questions on what reports we wanted, how we wanted them presented, when and how much involvement we required from them. We have engaged Sarah and her team to prepare the fortnightly payroll and associated lodgements, weekly creditors, debtor reconciliations, and the monthly management reports. This process significantly reduces the annual tax compliance obligation hours required as an added bonus. We are extremely satisfied with the services and resultant efficiencies that Miss Efficiency provide our business.

The Miss Efficiency team were open to making changes to their systems to accommodate ours where it was obvious there was a benefit, which was reassuring from the very beginning. Our monthly report packs were customised to what we required, and are prepared within a timely manner.

The engagement of the Miss Efficiency team has meant we can concentrate on the operational side of our business, and not be concerned about reporting obligations taking up our time. It has reduced stress levels of the partners, and has meant that we did not need to employe a finance person to take care of this for us.
